Health and Safety Compliance Advisor

Nexus Delivery is currently seeking an experienced Health and Safety Compliance Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Health and Safety Manager to ensure that all employees and sub-contractors are working in a safe environment.

Applicants should have:

  • minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
  • familiarity with federally funded civil construction projects and OFSC auditing
  • previous experience in a federal/state Safety Officer position (highly regarded)
  • auditing certification in WH&S management systems or equivalent auditing experience
  • expert knowledge of the relevant Health and Safety legislation
  • advanced Microsoft Office suite skills
  • relevant tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety (highly desirable).

Batch Plant Operator

Nexus Delivery is currently seeking an experienced Foam Bitumen Plant Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be working with the Batch Plant Manager to manage the integrity and quality of our foam bitumen operations.

Applicants should have:

  • previous experience working with pugmills and/or pugmill type batch plants (essential)
  • demonstrated experience in a similar role working in a pavements environment on a large scale civil construction project
  • familiarity with TMR specifications and a sound technical knowledge of foam bitumen production and placement specifications
  • the ability to prioritise and work unsupervised in a busy working environment
  • the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships internally and externally.

Screed / Level Hand

Nexus Delivery is currently seeking an experienced Screed/Level Hand to join our team.  Reporting to the Foreman – Asphalt, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and competent operation of our plant.

Applicants should have:

  • relevant experience for machine operation
  • a minimum of 3-5 years experience working in an asphalt or pavements environment on a large scale civil construction project
  • Bitumen Safe Handling ticket.

Traineeships and Statim-Yaga program

We’re working with Construction Skills Queensland to provide opportunities for apprentices and trainees in the building and construction industry. Expression of Interest Portal

Nexus Delivery has partnered with the Gold Coast School of Construction (GCSC) to run a training program designed to maximise opportunities and outcomes for Indigenous Australians in the construction industry through work placement on the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing.

The Statim-Yaga program assists Indigenous career seekers to obtain the necessary skills and experience to gain employment in the construction industry, with selected candidates under instruction five days a week for 12 weeks.

How do I supply goods and services not listed on ICN Gateway?

Nexus Delivery will liaise directly with companies for items not listed in packages on ICN Gateway, for example printing and stationery.

With regard to demand for goods and services, Nexus has indicated construction projects of the size and scale of the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing are typically ‘back-end loaded’, in which demand for local content will grow as the works progress and peak towards the back end of the construction phase, when demand is highest for materials and labour.
