Quality Administrators

17 May 2018

Nexus Delivery is currently seeking Quality Administrators to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for assisting the Quality Manager to ensure the effective implementation, monitoring and maintenance of the Nexus Delivery Quality Management System on the project.

Applicants should have:

  • strong attention to detail with a track record of achieving results
  • demonstrated ability to learn new systems and processes
  • excellent communication, organisation, teamwork and negotiation skills
  • previous experience in a similar position or a technical role on a major infrastructure project
  • a minimum of 2 years experience in an Administration role
  • technical knowledge and experience relating to road construction and Quality Assurance will be highly regarded.

Cost Control Engineer

Nexus Delivery is currently seeking an experienced Cost Control Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will ideally be a Civil Engineer with extensive experience in cost management on a large civil construction project.

Applicants should have:

  • minimum of 5 years experience in a senior cost management position
  • a Bachelor of Engineering
  • previous experience working on major infrastructure projects valued over $50 million
  • excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • strong attention to detail.

Structures Foreman

3 May 2018

Nexus Delivery is currently seeking an experienced Structures Foreman to join our team for a contract period of 2 – 3 months. Reporting to our Health and Safety Coordinator, this position will provide advice, support and guidance to the construction team working in the Viaduct. The successful candidate is responsible for the safe coordination of onsite construction activities ensuring compliance with the health and safety contractual and statutory obligations.

Applicants should have:

  • a minimum of 5 years experience working in the civil infrastructure sector in a similar position
  • demonstrated civil infrastructure experience
  • knowledge of the relevant health and safety legislation
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to challenge undesirable safety behaviour in a constructive manner
  • rhe ability to demonstrate pro-active engagement with all levels of project staff to drive and promote leadership and behavioural change on the project
  • rrade qualification relevant to the construction, building or manufacturing industries
  • Certificate IV in Civil Supervision or willingness to obtain
  • previous experience working to TMR specifications including structures experience working on major infrastructure projects.

Health and Safety Advisor

Nexus Delivery is currently seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team for a contract period of 2 – 3 months. Reporting to our Health and Safety Coordinator, this position will provide advice, support and guidance to the construction team working in the Viaduct. The successful candidate will assist in the safe completion of the Viaduct ensuring compliance with the health and safety contractual and statutory obligations.

Applicants should have:

  • a minimum of 5 years experience working in the civil infrastructure sector
  • demonstrated civil infrastructure experience
  • expert knowledge of the relevant health and safety legislation
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to challenge undesirable safety behaviour in a constructive manner
  • demonstrated experience investigating safety incidents with experience in facilitating ICAM investigations
  • the ability to demonstrate proactive engagement with all levels of project staff to drive and promote leadership and behavioural change on the project
  • relevant tertiary qualifications in health and safety will be highly desirable.

Pavements Crew

27 April 2018

Nexus Delivery has a number of opportunities for suitably qualified and experienced candidates and is calling for applications for the following roles:

  • Asphalt Roller Operators
  • Asphalt Screed / Level Hand
  • Front End Loader Operators
  • Asphalt Pug Mill Operator

The successful candidates will hold the relevant tickets for plant operation and ideally have a minimum of 3-5 years experience working in an asphalt or pavements environment on a large scale civil construction project.

Candidates with Bitumen Safe Handling training will be highly regarded.

Pavements Leading Hands / Foreman

Nexus Delivery is currently seeking experienced Pavements Leading Hands and Foreman to join our pavements team.

Applicants should have:

  • a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position within the large civil construction environment
  • previous experience in the asphalt industry will be highly regarded
  • experience working with Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) specifications
  • excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • commitment to fostering the safety culture on site towards safety and a zero-harm attitude towards safety.

Environmental Coordinator

Nexus Delivery is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Coordinator to join our team for a contract period of four to six months.

Applicants should have:

  • a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
  • relevant qualifications in Environmental Management (or equivalent)
  • previous experience working in a large civil construction environment (highly desirable)
  • intermediate Microsoft Office suite skills
  • excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Traineeships and Statim-Yaga program

We’re working with Construction Skills Queensland to provide opportunities for apprentices and trainees in the building and construction industry. Expression of Interest Portal

Nexus Delivery has partnered with the Gold Coast School of Construction (GCSC) to run a training program designed to maximise opportunities and outcomes for Indigenous Australians in the construction industry through work placement on the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing.

The Statim-Yaga program assists Indigenous career seekers to obtain the necessary skills and experience to gain employment in the construction industry, with selected candidates under instruction five days a week for 12 weeks.

Nexus is committed to creating opportunities and skills development for the local workforce by providing fair and equal opportunity to tender for work packages.

The project is using Industry Capability Network (ICN) Gateway as part of the procurement process.

ICN Gateway is an online platform connecting suppliers with project owners and procurement managers, and is widely used and recognised in the sector.

Local suppliers and subcontractors are strongly encouraged to submit partial scopes on ICN if they do not qualify for a major package.

How do I supply goods and services not listed on ICN Gateway?

Nexus Delivery will liaise directly with companies for items not listed in packages on ICN Gateway, for example printing and stationery.

With regard to demand for goods and services, Nexus has indicated construction projects of the size and scale of the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing are typically ‘back-end loaded’, in which demand for local content will grow as the works progress and peak towards the back end of the construction phase, when demand is highest for materials and labour.
