Warrego Highway west interchange
As part of work on the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing, a grade separated interchange was constructed at the Warrego Highway at Charlton.
What's involved?
This involved constructing:
- two on-ramps, enabling motorists to access the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing in both directions
- two off-ramps, enabling eastbound and westbound motorists to exit the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing
- a bridge, taking the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing over the Warrego Highway
- two signalised intersections to allow road users to safely turn in and out of the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing
- one signalised intersection for Nass Road and Wirth Road to allow access to the new Nass Road decoupling area.
Construction of the Warrego Highway west interchange will also involve permanently closing Willett Road at its intersection with the Warrego Highway. Access for local Willett Road residents and Toowoomba Speedway visitors will continue via Wirth Road.
