TSRC Business Advisory Group tour the project

Today, members of the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing Business Advisory Group were given a tour of the near-completed project.

The Business Advisory Group was established in 2016 as a group of key business people from across the Toowoomba and Lockyer Valley regions, who worked in collaboration to help guide project outcomes through transparent communication and updates.

Head of the advisory group and Nexus Chairman John Witheriff said the group was important to ensure best outcomes for the project and communities.

“I have really enjoyed working with the group in the past three years and being able to understand how the project is benefiting or impacting the community direct from key business people,” John said.

“We provided them project updates and, in return, the members provided us with feedback which helped us improve how we work with the community, including local participation.

“The consortium is really proud of being able to reach, exceed and maintain the local participation target, helped along by guidance and advice from the advisory group.”

Business Advisory Group member Kerry Betros, who has been involved with the group from the very beginning, said it was amazing to be granted a tour of the project as it neared completion.

“I’ve enjoyed being part of the group and hearing from Nexus and other people within the local business community how the project is shaping up and the benefits the broader community is experiencing.

“Projects like the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing have far-reaching benefits across the region and for so many different businesses.

It was Nexus’ goal to create better connections with local businesses and community members and, through the Business Advisory Group, this goal has been achieved.
